I attended the second Sicilian Adventure.
Great accommodations - we stayed in a beautiful Italian villa. Plenty of rooms and places to shoot.
Great food - our hosts were also fifth generation wine makers. Wonderful, friendly people. Each meal was more than we could have hoped for.
Stunning locations - in addition to shooting at the villa, we were taken to a secluded rocky beach, a small historic village, a private island, and a deserted salt plant.
Well planned - We were met at the airport, driven to all our locations, and returned to the airport in clean comfortable vehicles.
I have no complaints, my wife had a wonderful time accompanying me too. There were enough things of interest to keep her from being bored as a non-photographer companion. If I were to rate the experience and the planning that went into it, I would have to give it a solid 10 out of 10. We had so many things to do, and so many places to go, I wish it had lasted longer, but then I would have been exhausted. It was truly an amazing adventure.

For me, it was my first workshop and it was amazing.
The possibility of creating beautiful photos with 5 professional, friendly and beautiful models give me a lot of inspiration.
It was intense but the tasty food, the warm people and the lovely villa let those 5 days fly like...i don't know what
Don't think about it, just go for it!
I attended Anastasia's first Sicilian photography workshop in early June of 2016. Having known Anastasia for some time, I knew, as soon she announced it, that this was going to be something special, and I immediately jumped on board. Little did I realize upon signing up that this would go way beyond "special." So much more than a "workshop," the entire experience, for both models and photographers alike, ended up being one of the most magical experiences of a lifetime. Anastasia's meticulous planning, scouting, helping with travel arrangements, arranging accommodations and all meals, were all on point. If you know, Anastasia, you know everything she does is done with love and an impeccable eye for remarkable beauty. No stones were left unturned, and she, and her wonderfully good hearted partner in crime, Roberto, worked tirelessly to make sure all her guests were cared for and made to feel comfortable. All meals were provided for among a beautifully adorned communal table, where the wine flowed freely, conversation was always lively, and the food was authentic and delicious. On our second night, Anastasia even arranged for a private wine tasting at the villa presented by a local winemaker.
As for the shooting environment she chose for her first workshop, what better place to create art with fellow creatives, friends new and old, than old world Sicily. We all stayed together at Villa Salinara, a sprawling compound with ample room for all, nestled in the seaside town of Marsala. The villa itself was overwhelming in its beauty and old world charm. Set amongst a vineyard and surrounded by mesmerising natural beauty, I would have been satisfied if we had never left the compound. Just within the villa itself, there were endless locations to make incredible photographs both indoors and out; rooftops, landscaped gardens, ancient kitchens, bedrooms, and common spaces. But, of course, this being Sicily, and Anastasia being Anastasia, we were taken on daily excursions to some of the most breathtaking locations I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot. From the quaint fishing village of Marsala, to the mountaintop town of Erice, to the volcanic shores at the beach of San Vito Lo Capo, to irradiant pink salt mining lakes, to an ancient farming village carved into a mountain at Grotta Mangiapane Custonaci, and so much more in between.
As for the photographs, I feel I took some of the best pictures of my short career as a photographer. Then again, with the stellar locations and models presenting themselves during this trip, how could I, or anyone else attending, for that matter, say otherwise.
This was not just a "workshop." These are new friends, memories and photos which will be cherished fora lifetime. I cannot wait to go on the next one. Anastasia, take me away again!

Early in the morning, long before the sun had painted the face of the most charming villa we could have imagined, we sat and wondered what the day’s adventure would bring. Every day exceeded anything we imagined… and every evening we fell into bed, amazed and delighted at what Anastasia had created. Her vision of the perfect set of circumstances, places, people and opportunities came together for us in and around the Villa Salinara in Trapani/Marsala, Sicily in June 2016.
Pick a subject… accommodations, food, transportation, models, wardrobe, weather, locations, scheduling… Anastasia and Roberto had it all covered expertly. Even personal requests of items to be shopped for were taken care of. The result was the freedom to explore our own creativity without reservation... a rare and delightful state of being.
Daniel Anton’s description of the experience elsewhere among these reviews is a mirror of our own and we agree whole-heartedly… Magic!
Thank you, Anastasia and Roberto for your vision, understanding of the creative process and all your hard work to make it a reality for all of us.
We are waiting to hear where we’re going next, Ana… where will you take us?

“This is not a workshop, this is a photo adventure.”
